1 Person Shot at Parking Garage Near Westfield San Francisco Centre: SFPD

Police said a person is in critical, but stable condition after being shot late Wednesday at a parking garage near the Westfield San Francisco Centre.

The shooting was reported at 6:30 p.m. inside the parking garage at 5th and Mission streets, near the Bloomingdale's store.

Police said the incident was not a random shooting and that the two involved know each other. The victim is expected to survive.

Responding officers locked down the area and searched the seven-story parking garage for the suspect, who was not found and still remained at large late Wednesday.

During the search, hundreds of people were unable to get to their vehicles. Parking garage staff told customers they would not have to pay for the extra time caused by the shooting and investigation.

Police are checking nearby surveillance cameras to see what kind of pictures they can get of the gunman.
