San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi wants another term in office. He revealed his intentions on the set of the NBC Bay Area show "The Mix."
"I will continue to press the case that the power of redemption, I think, should reign large in the city and county of San Francisco,” Mirkarimi said Wednesday. “It has for other elected officials, but for me I think that, as someone who presides over the ‘ministry of second chances,’ it has an even more profound meaning."
Mirkarimi was referring to his own second chance, when he faced allegations of spousal abuse in 2011.
