A fatal collision on northbound Highway 101 in South San Francisco just south of Grand Avenue has led to a three-mile backup, the CHP confirmed.
All lanes except one remain blocked.
The collision involved a pedestrian, according to the CHP. It is not known why a pedestrian was on the freeway.
No other information was immediately available.
