After Being Shot in Arm, San Jose Convenience Store Clerk Fights Off Masked Men With Baseball Bat

Two masked, armed men stormed into a Bay Area convenience store and taqueria Tuesday evening and shot a store clerk in the arm, police said.

But, according to San Jose Police Sgt. Enrique Garcia, the wounded clerk then picked up a baseball bat and began swinging it at the suspects. The men ran off with unknown items from the store.

It happened at Sunny's Quik Stop and Taqueria on Locust Street about 7 p.m.

The clerk was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Enrique said.

Police did not provide more details or a description of the suspects. They were still at large as of Wednesday morning.
