When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one stab wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The apartment complex had sent a message to residents that read it believes the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the community.

"We understand that a suspect has been arrested. However, since this is an ongoing investigation, there may be additional police activity in our community over the coming days," the message read.

Police have not confirmed if a suspect has been arrested or not.

The SJPD did not immediately respond to NBC Bay Area's request for an update on Thursday.

No other details were immediately available.
