The Audi was making a left turn about 7:55 a.m. in front of the VTA vehicle and  was hit on the driver's side, according to VTA spokeswoman Brandi Childress. The accident was reported at Charcot Avenue and Component, though motorists described the accident at N. First Street.

Because of the accident, service was disrupted along the Alum Rock-Santa Teresa and Winchester-Mountain View lines, according to a VTA spokesperson. Substitute bus service was in place between Bonaventura and Karina stations.
