San Jose Firefighters Knock Down Roadside Grass Fire on Highway 680

San Jose firefighters on Saturday knocked down a roadside fire on Interstate Highway 680.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a small grass fire was reported in the right hand shoulder 
near the Mckee Road off-ramp at about 2:23 p.m. It was put out by 3 p.m., the fire department said.

CHP officers were on scene assisting with traffic control. Two southbound lanes were closed to traffic till 4 p.m. due to the presence of fire equipment.
