A two-alarm residential fire has displaced 14 people Sunday morning in San Jose, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded at 1:54 a.m. to the 3200 block of Mount McKinley Drive to reports of a fire in the backyard of a home, San Jose Fire Capt. Mike Van Elgort said.
Upon arrival, fire officials said firefighters found a large shed structure in flames, and the exterior of two homes on fire.
The fire was under control at 2:29 a.m. and all of the residents were able to safely make it outside with no injuries, according to Van Elgort.
The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the 12 adults and two children displaced due to smoke damage, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation
