About two dozen San Jose veterans attended Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final thanks to Mayor Sam Liccardo.
Veterans affiliated with the All the Way Home campaign -- led by Liccardo, Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese and in partnership with Destination: Home -- will have the unique opportunity to watch the game from the City of San Jose's box at the SAP Center in an effort to end veteran homelessness in the region.
Veterans, including those who are homeless, were selected based on their involvement with the All the Way Home campaign and partnered organizations.
Those invited to the game include a veteran who served on Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), a recent combat veteran who now works at HomeFirst, and a former homeless veteran who served in the Middle East.
"This is a nice opportunity to say 'thank you' to the men and women of our armed forces, particularly those who faced and overcame challenges after returning home from their service," Liccardo said.
