San Jose Police Arrest Two Men Connected to 2016 Shooting

San Jose police have announced the arrest of two suspects from a fatal 2016 shooting that claimed the lives of two men.

Police arrested Isaac David Brown, 25, and Raymond Gabriel Estrada, 29, both of San Jose in May for the brazen daytime murders of two other San Jose men last year.

Brown was arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder and Estrada on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact, according to police.

San Jose police said the announcement of the arrests was delayed so police could contact additional witnesses for the identification process.

The victims, 20-year-old Edwin Verduo and 22-year-old Meneses Rangel, were critically wounded in the shooting, which happened just after 2 p.m. on June 28, 2016 near San Jose State University.

One of the victims died at a hospital the same day of the shooting. Another died of his injuries a few days later.

Police didn't release a motive in the shootings.

According to Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office and online court records, Brown was booked on May 11 and arraigned on May 12.

Estrada was booked on May 10 and arraigned May 11. Brown is being held with no bail and Estrada on $100,000 bond.

Both are scheduled to be in court next on Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.
