San Jose police on Friday identified the victim in a fatal stabbing at a downtown park early Thursday as 26-year-old Jason Rosario.
Rosario, a transient, was found at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday suffering from at least one stab wound at Cesar Chavez Park, located in the 100 block of South Market Street, according to police Sgt. Heather Randol.
He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, Randol said.
The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain under
investigation. The unidentified suspects have not been located and remain at large, Randol said.
The homicide was the city's fifth of the year.

Another man was stabbed at about 2:50 a.m. today downtown in the 300 block of South Market Street, but that victim was still alive with life-threatening injuries as of this morning, according to police.

The victim and attacker in this morning's incident appear to have known each other, but the suspect remains at large, police said.
