Two suspects fatally shot by San Jose police in less than 24 hours were wanted in connection to a homicide earlier this month, Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.
A third suspect remains at large, police said late Monday.
Earlier in the evening, police were following a suspect driving a car who was wanted on a felony murder warrant.
Police said the suspect was looking to kill a woman who was also in the vehicle because she had information linking him and two others to an Aug. 13 homicide on Lundy Avenue.
When the suspect realized officers were in pursuit, he sped off and crashed in the area of Kirkhaven Court and Stoneyhaven Way, in South San Jose, police said.

The suspect then got out of the car, left the woman and ran before he was contacted by officers.
Police said the suspect reached for his waist band, prompting officers to open fire and kill him. The shooting was reported just before 6:54 p.m.
"The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene," Garcia said. "No one else was injured."
Police said no gun was found on the suspect.
The shooting follows another fatal officer-involved shooting late Sunday, which police said was prompted when the suspect allegedly reached for a handgun. Police said late Monday that suspect was also connected to the Aug. 13 homicide.
Monday's incident is the department's eighth officer-involved shooting in 2015 and the fourth police shooting in a week.
