San Leandro will get its first and only medical marijuana dispensary.
Harborside Health Center, which operates dispensaries in Oakland and San Jose, announced Wednesday that council members from the City of San Leandro unanimously voted Tuesday to grant Harborside the only permit to open and operate a dispensary.
In 2013, San Leandro approved that one dispensary could be allowed to open in city limits. Harborside set up a web page to present itself as a top possibility for the city and community and offered San Leandro residents tours of the Oakland facility.
A location and timeline for opening has not yet been announced.
