A woman was seriously injured early this morning when another woman hit her with a car during an apparent dispute over a man, Santa Clara police said today.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Agate Drive and Meadowbrook Drive, police spokesman Lt. Phil Cooke said. The argument was apparently focused on a man who lives on Agate Drive, he said.
"One woman was ultimately hit and injured by a vehicle driven by the other woman," he said.
The woman who was struck sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, police Sgt. Ray Carreira said. The other woman and the man are being interviewed by police.
"We're still trying to piece everything together," Carreira said.
One block of Agate Drive at Meadowbrook Drive remains closed as crime scene technicians finish examining the site, Carreira said.
