6-Month Investigation Leads to Big Gambling Bust in South Bay

A six-month long investigation led to Santa Clara police detectives making a big gambling bust on Tuesday.

In the early hours of Feb. 24, detectives from Santa Clara, San Jose and the Santa Clara County Special Enforcement team executed search warrants for two homes in Modesto and two homes in San Jose.

Officials arrested 10 people on suspicion of illegal gaming. Seventeen others were arrested on unrelated charges.

Police seized four firearms, half an ounce of methamphetamine, $70,000 in cash and five illegal gambling machines. All suspects were booked in Santa Clara County Jail.
