Santa Rosa Police Arrest Suspect in Medical Marijuana Grow House Home Invasion Robbery

Santa Rosa police arrested a suspect in a marijuana-related home invasion robbery and shooting early Thursday morning.

A resident in the 2200 block of Windsor Court in the Rincon Valley area of Santa Rosa told police he woke up to the sounds of someone rummaging through his residence and found a male suspect inside his home. police Sgt. John Cregan said.

The suspect fled out the front door and the resident gave chase. The suspect stopped and fired multiple times at the victim, striking him in the leg, Cregan said. The wound is not considered life-threatening.

The victim then found another suspect hiding on the side of his house and chased him onto Montecito Boulevard. The second suspect escaped, but the victim was confronted by another suspect who also fired shots at him. The victim was not injured by those gunshots, Cregan said.

The victim told police at least one additional suspect fled the area in a dark-colored sedan and police are still trying to identify the suspects in the vehicle, Cregan said.

Santa Rosa police and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office's helicopter crew responded to the shooting and found an armed suspect, identified as Amante Erwin Robinson, hiding in thick vegetation, Cregan said.

Robinson, 19, of Santa Rosa, was identified as the suspect who shot the victim in front of the house. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm and removing a serial number from a firearm, Cregan said.

Police found a marijuana grow operation inside the Windsor Court residence that was in compliance with medical marijuana regulations. The suspects had removed multiple marijuana plants and personal property from the home, Cregan said.

The Sonoma County Alliance is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects still at large.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at (707) 543-3590.
