Seven Injured When SUV Rear-Ends Muni Bus

Seven passengers on an inbound 24-line bus were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

An SUV rear-ended a Muni bus in the San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood, Friday morning, injuring seven people, authorities said.

It happened at Bayshore Boulevard and Industrial Street about 9 a.m., near the U.S. Highway 101 and Interstate 280 interchange, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

All seven people hurt were passengers on the inbound 24-line bus. All their injuries are considered non-life threatening, authorities said. Three people suffered moderate injuries and four suffered minor injuries, Rose said. All were transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Muni bus and the driver of the SUV were not hurt.

The SUV driver was taken into custody. Police said they’re investigating whether drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
