Lucha VaVoom can be described (as it is on their website) as "Sexo y Violencia," because between Luchadores (Mexican wrestling) matches, sexy ladies do stripteases.

Here you can see the audience members in the front row taking in Lucy Fur.

Lucy Fur did a routine to Ween's "Bananas and Blow" song off of their 1996 album 12 Golden Country Greats.

During the routine, Lucy Fur goes to the back of the stage to grab a big bag off...?

...which she then dumps onto the stage for all to see/share.

This is when things get really funny, as Lucy Fur cuts up some lines with her giant razor blade.

In between each bit, Lucy Fur removes another article of clothing.

She then takes out a giant tube made to look like a straw to get some energy for the rest of the bit.

Here's a good look at the ring from the back of the room, the best spot to watch from was the balcony on the left.

First, Dr. Maldad grabs one of the Crazy Chickens and pulls him out of the ring.

The night reminded me a lot of San Francisco's old Incredibly Strange Wrestling, which wasn't as slick as Lucha Vavoom, but the tortilla throwing really made up for any short comings.

The last act I was allowed to photograph was Karis, a hula hooping faun.

I've seen Karis perform with Mutaytor many times and I'm not sure if he will be on stage when Mutaytor performs at The Mezzanine in SF on Saturday May 16, 2009.

Karis did a bit of a strip tease of his own while hooping.

After the hooping, the main event happened. I wasn't allowed to shoot it, but it was an awesome tag-team bout with two of "The Minis" (very, very small wrestlers) battling it out on either team.

Karis awash in someones flash.

At one point in the last match, two wrestlers jumped from the second floor balcony down to the floor below, right in the middle of the fans. One was Cassandro, who must've felt right at home in San Francisco, and the other was a mini. It was awesome!

Lucha Vavoom was a lot of fun and I'd recommend checking it out next time they are in town.
