San Francisco's popular Saturday farmers market at the downtown Ferry Building is now offering a new bike-friendly service: free valet parking.
The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is offering the service -- described by the coalition in a news release as "like a coat check for bikes" - as part of a partnership with the Port of San Francisco and local businesses.
According to the coalition, there will be space to secure up to 200 bikes in a plaza area across from the Ferry Building along the
Embarcadero.
Organizers are hoping to encourage more environmentally sustainable transportation to the farmers market, which is held Saturdays year round from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
