SF Mayor Knows Way to San Jose

Entertainment Tonight among the media at event

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom took his gubernatorial road show to San Jose Tuesday night.

He spoke to a youthful audience inside, while protesters who'd tailed him down the peninsula made noise outside.

The protesters were on hand to make noise over the cuts to public health in San Francisco proposed in the mayor's budget, and suggested the mayor's trip took time away from his civic duty.

At an event earlier in the day to benefit the Shape Up San Francisco coalition, which urges residents to get more exercise and eat better, Newsom was at loss as to what he could have been doing to help his constituents at the time.

"I can make things up to do today in order not to go down (to San Jose). I'm more than capable of spending an hour and a half in a town hall and spending 14 hours on city business," quotes the San Francisco Chronicle.

Hopefully the assembled media, including producers from Entertainment Tonight, got their stories straight.  The mayor's communication director Nathan Ballard has started a "Corrections Page," for setting the record straight "when the media publishes inaccurate information or gets the story wrong."

Can't wait to see the correction issued when the Entertainment Tonight segment airs.

Jackson West has yet to declare his intent to run for Governor.
