SFO Terminal Ranked Best Design in U.S.

Cosmopolitan style gets big ups

When passengers arrive at San Francisco International Airport's international terminal, they are greeted by a sweeping structure with windows in nearly every direction. The high-class style has not gone unnoticed by design experts either.

Dwell Magazine calls SFO's international terminal the Best in the U.S., giving big props to the terminal's "cosmopolitan style."

The concourse is a light and airy space—–if a bit oversized for current traffic levels—–that hums quietly and instills confidence and calm in the traveler.

The artistic design is not the only thing visitors can enjoy at the terminal, the magazine points out. The aquarium, aviation museum, available spa treatments and restaurants also rank the place as one of the best in the world.

The number one ranking proves the beauty and style of SFO's international terminal make an impression on anyone who sees it.

The worst ranked terminal is not too far away from the best, geographically at least. Dwell gave a big thumbs down to LAX, calling it, "a collection of drab terminals connected by a traffic jam.”
