San Francisco Police have arrested a man in connection to the vandalism of a MUNI bus after the Giants' World Series win on Sunday.
The San Francisco Chronicle published a photo of a man smashing a windshield of the bus, which was quickly circulated around the web.
The public voiced disapproval of this behavior and submitted tips to police. The investigation led to the identity of the suspect, 22 year-old Gregory Tyler Graniss of San Francisco.
Graniss was booked into County Jail on charges of felony vandalism and injuring or destroying a passenger transit vehicle, which is also a felony.
“This was a senseless act of destruction and there is no tolerance for such criminal behavior in San Francisco,” said Police Chief Greg Suhr. “With assistance from the public, investigators moved swiftly to identify this suspect and make an arrest. Investigators are also working tirelessly to identify those responsible for setting the bus on fire and to bring them to justice.”
