SF's SoMa Helps Mission Residents Land Housing Moratorium on November Ballot

The proposed moratorium on housing in San Francisco's Mission District will be on the November ballot in part due to a contribution from a neighboring district.

A $25,000 donation from TODCO, an advocacy group for affordable housing in the nearby South of Market (SoMa) neighborhood helped the proposal garner 15,000 signatures to land on the ballot at the last minute, reported the San Francisco Business Times.

The terms of the proposed moratorium would cap new market rate housing projects bigger than five units in the Mission District for 18 months.
