The Sierra LaMar murder trial is expected to start on Monday.
Sources tell NBC Bay Area pre-trial motions will take place that day at the Santa Clara County Hall of Justice. Jury selection is not expected for a while.
Gilroy-resident Roger Nelson was a part of a search team that spent three years looking for LaMar. And after learning the trial will soon begin, he said it will finally bring some closure.
"We're eager for justice for Sierra LaMar," Nelson said. "We're eager for closure for the family."
The case started four years ago when LaMar disappeared while walking to a school bus stop.
Police presume the Morgan Hill teen to be dead and her body has not been found. Antolin Garcia-Torres has been indicted by a grand jury for LaMar's death. He faces a possible death sentence if convicted.
Last month, lawyers for Garcia-Torres filed a motion and obtained access to a potential key piece of evidence: DNA analysis.
A crime lab previously tested the DNA on LaMar's pants and received a hit on 12 profiles, with one of those profiles being Garcia-Torres.
The defense wants to know who the other 11 profiles from the lab test belong to.
Legal analyst Steven Clark said the defense may try to move the case.
"Because of the tremendous emotional affect this Sierra LaMar case has had on this community, and the fact that so many people continue to look for her body," Clark said.

Meanwhile, those who took part in the search for LaMar hope justice will prevail.
"We hope that this process ultimately brings Sierra home to her loving family," Nelson said.
