Silicon Valley Comic Con 2016 Gets More Star Studded

Star power at the first Silicon Valley Comic Con in 2016 is on the rise.

Marvel Comics' Stan Lee and Apple founder Steve Wozniak announced in April that that they'll bring the first ever Silicon Valley Comic Con to San Jose's McEnery Convention Center on March 18-20.

It was announced last month that Christopher Lloyd and William Shatner will appear at the event, the latter presiding over a 50th anniversary celebration for "Star Trek." Additions to the conference announced Thursday include appearances by Lee (with his Stan Lee Mega Museum), Jeremy Renner, Sean Astin, Ray Park, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk.

"When I was growing up, it was hard to be a geek. It definitely wasn’t cool, and that wasn’t easy," Wozniak said in a memo posted to the event website. "I’m happy things have changed because now people are able to be proud of being geeks and being different. Silicon Valley Comic Con will be an event where fans of all kinds can celebrate the Age of the Geek."

Tickets start at $25 for the preview night on March 18 and go up to $890 for a "VIP Diamond" package that includes a three-night stay at one of three partner hotels in San Jose.

More stars, comic artists and speakers are scheduled to be announced over the coming months.
