SJ 20th Homicide Suspect Arrested

San Jose police have arrested a man in connection with the city's 20th homicide this year.

David Smythe, 36, of San Jose was taken into custody on Sunday for the stabbing of 41-year-old Harry Clark last Friday night.  That's when police responded to a report of a person down and found someone lying in a parking lot of the 1300 block of Winchester Blvd.

When police arrived, they found Clark was suffering from at least one stab wound, and he was pronounced dead about 11:36 p.m.

The motive is unclear, but police are saying they don't believe this was gang related.
