SJ Police Release New Details on Deadly Hit and Run

San Jose police released new information this week about a car involved in a hit-and-run collision in January that killed an 80-year-old  woman.

The vehicle is described as a green, four-door, late 1990s or early 2000-model Honda Civic or Accord that may have front-end damage as a  result of the collision, according to police.

The car struck Quy Tran as she crossed Senter Road at Independence Drive at about 8 a.m. on Jan. 19, police Sgt. Mike Sullivan said.

The driver apparently got out of the car after the crash and dragged Tran off the roadway but then drove away, according to Sullivan.

Tran later died at a hospital, police said.

The suspect is described as an Asian man between 25 and 35 years old with a thin, muscular build and short black hair.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact San Jose police Investigator Mike O'Brien at (408) 277-4654. People wishing to remain  anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 408-947-STOP.
