SJ's First Homicide Victim Identified

San Jose police today identified the victim of a Monday night fatal shooting as city resident Van Hoang.

The shooting was reported at about 11:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Glen Amador Court, Officer Jermaine Thomas said.

Several neighbors reported hearing gunshots, and arriving officers found Hoang, 23, in the driveway of a home, according to Thomas.

Hoang died at the scene.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information is available.

The shooting was San Jose's first homicide of the year, according to Thomas.
