Man Shot to Death Near Social Security Office in SJ

A man was shot to death early Thursday morning near the Social Security office in San Jose - the second deadly shooting in the city in less than three days.

It's the 13th homicide in San Jose this year, police said.

The latest shooting was reported about 2:28 a.m. near the 2500 block of Fontaine Road, where the Social Security Office is located, when they found a man suffering from "visible injuries," Officer Albert Morales said. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Morales said police have no motive or suspects for the shooting and the suspect remains at large.

On Monday night, a man was shot dead about  9:25 p.m. in the 5200 block of Monterey Road.

When officers arrived, the found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to police.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Like Thursday's shooting, police have not determined a motive for the shooting or caught the shooter.
