Sonoma Co. Resident in Need of a Kidney Takes to FB in Hopes of Finding a Match

A 75-yar-old Sonoma County resident in need of a kidney has taken to Facebook in hopes of finding a match as she fights to stay alive.

Former California Dairy Princess Marilyn Herzog found out she needed a kidney about three years ago. Since then, she’d been doing 10 hours of dialysis at home every single day.

About a week ago, her family and friends put together a Facebook Page called Miracle 4 Marilyn to reach out to as many people as possible.

The email address: miracle4marilyn@gmail.com can be found on the page and in it, the public can get directed to a questionnaire to see if they’re a match.

The Santa Rosa native not only wants to find a match of her own, but she also wants to be able to give back to people in her position.

"Because this happened to me and I have skills in fundraising, I would really, really love to be able to do that," she said. "That takes energy and I know I can do that if I get a new kidney."
