A Sonoma County sheriff's deputy collided with a vehicle while pursuing a Ford SUV that had fled a traffic stop in west Sonoma County, the sheriff's office said.
The deputy and a female passenger in a vehicle that was not involved in the pursuit suffered minor injuries in the collision at Stony Point Road and U.S. Highway 101. Both were taken to a local hospital, the sheriff's office said.
The pursuit of the Ford SUV started around 12:45 p.m. in the area of Guerneville and Willowside roads west of Santa Rosa.
Following the collision at Stony Point Road between the patrol car and another vehicle, the SUV drove up to 100 mph south on Highway 101, weaving between and straddling lanes, the sheriff's office said.
The SUV exited the highway at Petaluma Boulevard North in Petaluma and spun out on the shoulder.
The driver, later identified as Joni Leigh Brown, 29, of Sonoma County, managed to avoid a physical maneuver by a deputy's car to stop her, along with spike strips that were put on the road by Petaluma police, the sheriff's office said.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter followed the pursuit as it entered the highway in Marin County. The CHP deployed spike strips south of San Antonio Road in an active construction zone, flattening all four of the SUV's tires, the sheriff's office said.

Brown pulled the Ford into the center median where she was arrested on one felony and nine misdemeanor outstanding warrants, and on suspicion of causing injury while evading police.
Deputies determined Brown was not under the influence of alcohol, the sheriff's office said. She is being held in the Sonoma County Jail under $285,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
