Sonoma Warming Center Open for Residents Affected by Power Shutoff

A warming center is open Wednesday night through Thursday morning in Sonoma for county residents who have no power due to the Public Safety Power Shutoff, county officials said.

The center opened at 8 p.m. in Benziger Hall at St. Leo's Catholic Church at 601 W. Agua Caliente Road.

Temperatures overnight are expected to drop into the 30s, prompting county officials to issue a cold weather advisory.

Residents at the warming center can charge devices such as cellphones. Cots for sleeping are not being provided.

But warm beverages and blankets will be available. Service animals are allowed inside but not pets.
