Sonoma Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Stabbing Boyfriend

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies arrested a Sonoma woman on suspicion of stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic altercation in unincorporated Sonoma County Monday night, a sheriff's sergeant said.

Deputies responded around 9 p.m. to the stabbing at a residence at 29000 Skaggs Island Road, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.

The injured man's relative agreed to take him to a hospital, but Sonoma Valley Fire Department crews found them and began treating the man for his injury, Crum said. The victim said his 40-year-old girlfriend Idalia Cortes-Acosta stabbed him once in the left arm during an argument.

Sheriff's detectives went to the Skaggs Island Road residence but Cortes-Acosta had left in the victim's 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. Detectives searched for her all night and sent information about her to law enforcement agencies, Crum said.

The Napa Police Department informed the sheriff's office they found Cortes-Acosta in the Chevrolet on Browns Valley Road in Napa around 6 a.m. She was booked into Sonoma County Jail under $110,000 bail on suspicion of felony domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, according to Crum.
