South Bay Events Ahead of Monday's College Football Championship at Levi's

UPDATE, 6 p.m. Sunday: Due to weather conditions, the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! concert, featuring The Regrettes, Elle Goulding and OneRepublic, was canceled Sunday evening.

The South Bay is the center of the college football universe starting Friday with a series of events in San Jose leading up to the College Football Playoff National Championship at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Monday.

The University of Alabama and Clemson University will play in the title game at 5 p.m. Monday, but before that, thousands of fans will be visiting the various sites in San Jose for exhibits, clinics, concerts and other events to celebrate college football.

The Playoff Fan Central, a 100,000-square-foot interactive experience at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, opens at noon Friday with tickets that cost $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

The Quad, located at Plaza de Cesar Chavez, will also open Friday and serves as a meeting place for fans with live DJs, a merchandise store and other concessions and interactive activities planned. The site is free and will be open to the public through Sunday.

The AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! concert series starts Friday as well at Discovery Meadow Park in San Jose, with Alessia Cara and Brynn Elliott playing starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Logic, Leon Bridges and Jay Rock will perform, and OneRepublic and Ellie Goulding will perform Sunday.

The concerts are also free to the public and will feature fireworks, food and beverages, according to organizers.
