Firefighter Injured After Falling From Roof in San Jose

A firefighter was transported to a hospital after falling from a roof while battling a fire Monday at a San Jose townhome.

The firefighter's injuries are not life-threatening, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

The fire in the 1800 block of Ashmeade Court was contained to one vacant unit and appears to have started in the attic, firefighters said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

UPDATE: Ashmeade fire under control as of 12:15pm. 1 firefighter was transported to the hospital for evaluation after falling from low roof during fire attack. Fire contained to the one vacant unit and appears to have started in the attic. No residents displaced by the fire.
