A preliminary 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Morgan Hill Tuesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, which struck at 10:12 a.m., was centered 7.1 miles east of Morgan Hill and 8.5 miles north-northeast of Gilroy, the USGS said.
