A road in Santa Cruz County in the hills above Aptos washed out early Friday morning, taking a PG&E vehicle with it, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The CHP said a call came in around 12:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Valencia School Road.
The road is now closed and the PG&E vehicle has not been recovered.
No injuries were reported.
PG&E said in a statement early Friday: "We understand one of our employees was involved in a vehicle accident earlier this morning in Aptos when the roadway gave way. The PG&E employee is safe, and according to CHP, the vehicle will be recovered when itβs safe to do so."
Thousands of Santa Cruz County residents were evacuated earlier this week due to possible debris flows in wildfire burn scar areas. Those evacuation orders were downgraded to warnings Thursday then to advisories Friday.
