Sugar Bowl to End Ski Season Early: No Snow

Sugar Bowl announced the ski resort will close early this season - on Sunday - because there's not enough snow in the Truckee region.

Last week, Sierra-at-Tahoe spokesman Thea Hardy also announced the Lake Tahoe resort would close early. Usually, she said, there's usually enough snow cover to remain open well into April at the resort just south of U.S. Highway.

Snowpack throughout the Sierra is at or near historic lows as unseasonably warm temperatures have been the norm much of the winter.
