Summer Finally Arrives

Summer doesn't technically begin until June 21.

After a cold start to June, the weather pattern is finally starting to flip toward a typical summertime forecast.

NBC Bay Area meteorologist Christina Loren said Tuesday will be the warmest day of the year so far with many cities hitting 90-degrees.

The reason for the mini-heatwave is a region of high pressure that is built off the Pacific Coast. It will bring the longest stretch of warm weather in 8 months.

Loren says the following cities will hit 90 degrees Tuesday (and Wednesday):

  • Morgan Hill
  • Los Gatos
  • Gilroy
  • Livermore
  • Concord
  • Napa
  • Fairfield

San Jose is just one degree shy in Loren's forecast with a high of 89 on Tueday.

The warming trend will stick around for the rest of the work week. The hottest day of the week should be Wednesday.

This Sunday is Father's Day. Things should remain beautiful for the weekend, but a bit cooler in the mid-70s.

Get out and enjoy yourself!
