Superhero Gamemaker Inks Deal With Mideast Firm

Massive multiplayer gaming deal made

Superhero multi-player game-maker Gazillion Entertainment is teaming up with a government-owned media company to make video games in the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Dhabi Media Company says its 50-50 joint venture with San Mateo, Calif.-based Gazillion Entertainment includes plans to build an online gaming studio in the capital of the oil-rich United Arab Emirates.

Gazillion specializes in so-called "massively multiplayer" online games, known in the gamer world as MMOs, which let thousands of players interact over the Internet simultaneously.

Gazillion agreed in March to produce online games featuring Marvel Entertainment superheroes such as Spider-Man and the Incredible Hulk.

Financial terms of Tuesday's deal were not disclosed.
