A suspect was arrested Thursday for allegedly murdering a man found in San Jose earlier in the week, a police spokesman said Friday.
Joshua Mendoza, 36, is suspected of killing a man whose body was found at an apartment complex on Montecito Vista Drive, police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.
Officers responded to the complex around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a possible dead body and arrived to find the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said.
Officers initially investigated the death as suspicious and homicide detectives started looking into the case, according to Garcia.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office determined the man died of blunt force trauma, the spokesman said.
Detectives identified the suspect as Mendoza and secured an arrest warrant for him, according to Garcia.
Mendoza was arrested at his San Jose home on Thursday and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder, Garcia said.
