Suspected Killer of SF Hells Angels Leader Surrenders

Leader Killed Sept. 2

The man suspected of killing the leader of the San Francisco Hells Angels chapter has surrendered to police.

San Francisco police say 37-year-old Christopher Ablett of Modesto, who was wanted for the slaying of 46-year-old Hells Angels leader Mark Guardado, surrendered in Oklahoma Saturday.

Police say Guardado was shot outside a San Francisco bar Sept. 2.

Police have not said what the motive for the killing may have been. They say Ablett was a member of the rival Mongols Motorcycle Club.

The Mongols and Hells Angels have a long-standing feud that erupted in an April 2002 fight at a casino in Nevada. The fight resulted in the deaths of three bikers and injured numerous others.

Ablett is in custody and is awaiting extradition.
