Taco Festival, Graduation To Cause Traffic Jams in San Jose

A confluence of factors may lead to a logjam Saturday in San Jose.

Don't spill any Al pastor on the caps or gowns. And don't be surprised if all of the above causes you a traffic headache.

The San Jose Taco Festival of Innovation is at 11 a.m. Saturday at History Park -- about a block away from Spartan Stadium, where San Jose State's graduation festivities begin at 9:30 a.m., according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The taco festival could draw "tens of thousands" of tortilla-mad "hipster taco fans," the newspaper reported. It's highly likely that newly-arriving taco-seekers will vie with folks leaving the graduation ceremony for road space and parking spots.

Everyone else should "just avoid the whole area around Alma Avenue and Seventh Street," the newspaper's Sal Pizarro warned.
