Teen Punched ‘Several’ Times While Waiting for Bus in San Francisco

A 15-year-old boy waiting for a bus in San Francisco Wednesday afternoon was punched "several" times in what appears to be a random attack, according to police.

The teenager was attacked around 1:20 p.m. along the 4700 block of Mission Street, police said.

The suspect came up on the teenager from behind and punched him, according to police. The teen was punched "several more times" after he fell to the ground.

Police said the teen was originally listed in life-threatening condition, but he has since been upgraded to non-life-threatening.

The suspect fled the scene following the attack, according to police. A suspect description was not immediately available.

There's no indication that the victim knew the suspect, police said.
