Teenager Charged with Stabbing Nine-Year-Old is Back in Court, Pleads Not Guilty

The teenager charged with stabbing a nine-year-old boy to death in his Discovery Bay home, is back in court Monday. New information may be released Monday about whether he's competent to stand trail.

Defense attorneys for 18-year-old William Schultz said mental illness played a role in the stabbing of third grader Jordon Almgren.

On Monday, a jury will listen as two independent evaluators testify on their assessments of the teen.

Shultz is friends with the Almgrens and was sleeping over at their house on the night of the stabbing.

The teen has pleaded "not guilty."
