It may have been an easy guess for die hard bike messengers, but for anyone else, being familiar with CEO Mike Wallenfells and Timbuk2 products might not be the case.
Timbuk2, a messenger bag manufacturing company born in 1989 and raised in the heart of San Francisco, incessantly creates custom bags designed by the consumer.
A plethora of custom options await consumers, from fabric...

Once the consumer has submitted all bag options (either online or in on of their store locations), the creation immediately begins at the factory located directly next to Timbuk2's corporate office and headquarters.
The phenomenal efficiency of Timbuk2 employee's typically allows a custom designed bag to be at it's destination the 3rd day after an order is submitted.
Boredom lacks for Timbuk2 employees as they don't face the monotony of sewing the same bag. Last year, only NINE of the same bags were made.
Top of the line bags are born as a result of this fine, timeless machine.
The new factory located in the Mission District completed remodeling in 2008, giving the factory sun roof lighting, ample space, and room for expansion.
All custom Timbuk2 products are made in San Francisco and ready-made products are manufactured in China and the Philippines.

To alleviate the designer block some might have when beginning to customize a bag, the Timbuk2 website now designates a part of their site to posting the latest bags designed by other customers in order to spark up ideas or allow you to recreate something you see and like.
Ready-made products are available, but it is rare to see two of the same customized bags.
Timbuk2 also offers different gear -- shirts, coffee mugs, hats, and a variety of bike accessories.
The latest Timbuk2 craze are sleeves for the iPad and other tablets. Beginning mid-July, consumers could customize their sleeves, as well.
