Timeline: Disappearance, Homicide of Kyle Myrick

Friday, Jan. 22, 2016: Kyle Myrick, 28, a Westmont High School graduate, was reported missing. Officers responded to his workplace at GP Sports, 2020 Camden Avenue in San Jose.

San Jose police impounded a white 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 truck  similar to the one pictured above they say is owned by suspect Steve Hlebo and connected to the crime. Anyone who knows where it was between Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 23 at 5 p.m., should call Detective Sergeant Paul Hamblin or Detective Jason Tanner of the San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283.

Saturday, Jan. 23: Steve Hlebo, 39, of Los Altos, a co-worker of the victim's, was arrested at his home, address unknown. He was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on a murder charge.

Sunday, Jan 24: John Sparry, Myrick's stepfather, helps lead volunteer search at Lexington Reservoir. Police search Mount Umunhum that Hlebo is connected with.

Monday, Jan. 25: Volunteer searchers met at 1500 N. Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View to resume searching for the body between Alviso and Palo Alto.

Monday, Jan. 25: Hlebo tells NBC Bay Area from jail that he didn't do it and that he was framed. Police release photo of Hlebo's GMC.

Tuesday, Jan. 26: Sparry asks volunteers to meet in front of Summit House Restaurant in Los Gatos to fan out and search the Santa Cruz mountains. Volunteer Alvin Alejandro lends his drone to the search.

Wednesday, Jan. 27:  Hlebo makes first court appearance in Myrick's death, but does not enter plea. San Jose police reports made public say victim's "severed ear" was found at homicide scene. Myrick's brothers, Richard and Shane, made public pleas to help find body.

Thursday, Jan. 28: Search for Myrick begins in Mountain View, near Hlebo's house, at 600 Showers Avenue. Myrick's body is found about 4 p.m. near Jamison Creek Road. Vigil held at 8 p.m. at Cambrian Park Plaza at 14200 Union Ave. in San Jose.
