Toll Taker Back at Dumbarton Bridge

After weeks of a long backup at the Dumbarton Bridge, transportation leaders have decided to fund a morning toll taker for lane No. 4.

The exact details weren't made clear on Monday, but the Metropolitain Transportation Commission will now pay for a toll taker during some portion of the weekday 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. commute.

Since New Year's, Lane No. 4 has not been staffed because of budget cuts, according to MTC's John Goodwin. But the morning backup at the bridge was horrendous and transporation agencies spent the last few weeks trying to figure out what to do.

As of Monday, it was agreed upon to fund  a toll taker.
