An etiquette misstep led to a fight at Rocklin AMF Lanes in which a man knocked a victim's tooth out with a 16-pound bowling ball, police said.
Officers were called at 12:40 a.m. Thursday to the bowling alley at at 2325 Sierra Meadows Drive after two groups of angry bowlers could not agree on who had the right of way when two bowlers approached a lane at the same time.
About six people were involved in the resulting fist fight, authorities said.
During the brawl, 24-year-old Ryan Scott David allegedly tried to use a bowling ball to settle the dispute, knocking the victim's front tooth out in one piece, root and all.
The fight was broken up by other patrons of the bowling alley.
Paramedics responded to the bowling alley and immediately took action to save the victim's front tooth. They placed the tooth in milk and took the tooth and the victim to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Doctors were able to replace the tooth with the hope that it will be able to re-attach itself. The victim, who was not identified, suffered other injuries to his face from the impact of the bowling ball.
