A person was struck and killed by a BNSF freight train in Antioch on Monday night, according to Antioch police.
Emergency crews responded to reports of pedestrian walking on the railroad tracks being struck by a train in the 300 block of Fulton Shipyard Road, police said.
Fire crews located the victim in a nearby river at 8:47 p.m., police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
